Al Ibtikar Al Hadeeth Technical Works is a leading fireproofing company in the UAE, specializing in the application of intumescent paint and cementitious fireproofing. One of their notable projects was the Poland Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which had a steel surface area of 11,000 square meters. To ensure its fire safety, the team used water-based intumescent coatings, specifically Sherwin-Williams Phoenix 370-90 and Phoenix 370-60. These intumescent paints, along with other intumescent paint ingredients, work by swelling up and creating a thick, insulating layer that protects the steel from the heat of a fire. The project was completed in 2020 and had a fire rating of up to 120 minutes, thanks to the fire retardant intumescent coating. Sherwin-Williams Phoenix 370-60 and 370-90 data sheets were consulted to ensure the highest quality of application. Fire Proofing Materiel: Hempafire Pro 315
Hempafire Pro 315 is a one component, solvent-borne, physically drying intumescent coating for passive fire protection of structural steel against cellulosic fires. It is optimized for R30 & R60 and for in-shop and on-site applications. Fire protection at R90 may be possible depending on the project.
- Very competitive loadings resulting in reduced paint consumption and less coats to apply. Faster drying times thanks to lower thicknesses to apply. One product for most common steel sections to reduce complexity in application and specification. It has been approved and 3rd party certified according to EN13381-8, BS 476-21 and AS 4100. It has ETA with CE mark, Certifire and ApplusFire approvals. Ease of application and smooth surface contributes to provide excellent cosmetic finish to steel. Can be applied up to 1600 micron [63 mils] dry film thickness per coat, thus providing the required protection in less coats. 12 months weather resistant without topcoat provided that coating is sufficiently dried, applied according the Application Instructions and not exposed to condensation, running or pooling water. Environmental Product Declaration with third-party certification available (Type III EPD, acc. to ISO 14025, EN 15804). Product can contribute to EPD credits for LEED and BREEAM projects.
